The FitPAWS Targets are a great training tool for pets. They are often used for “stay” “send-away” and “go-to” commands, as well as to introduce new, unfamiliar equipment. These targets are the most simple way to make something new seem less intimidating to a dog. In order to introduce your pet to the FitPAWS Targets, you can use simple commands that they already know, plus treats always help!

CARE
- Use warm soapy water to clean. Lay flat to dry.
- Avoid using products like Simple Green, Lysol wipes, bleach and other harsh detergents.
USE
- Consult with your veterinarian/physical therapist to determine the best treatment plan.
- Do not store in sunlight or extreme temperatures, this can change the durability of the Targets.
- Can be used as stand-alone exercise equipment or with other FitPAWS products for dynamic use.
- Do not leave your pet unattended when using the Targets. This product is not a toy and is meant for rehab and fitness use only.

Always use the exercise equipment in a large, open room to reduce the risk of injury or damaging the product.
- Avoid direct contact with ink printed material as the ink can transfer and mark the products.
- The Targets can be used either indoors or outdoors depending on your dog's preferences.
EXERCISE BASICS

Ensure your dog is healthy to begin exercise. Consult your canine health professional before beginning this or any exercise program.

Always check for proper body alignment while performing exercises. Watch to ensure back and neck are neutral. Front limbs and hind limbs should support weight safely. Avoid over extension of limbs, neck, and back.
- Perform an equal number of exercise repetitions on both sides of the body.
- Start slow and build up. 3-5 repetitions is adequate for dogs beginning an exercise program.
- Never over-exercise or over-tire your dog. Always watch for and listen to signs of tiredness or exhaustion.
- We recommend your dog use a safety harness, while exercising on the equipment.
Paw Placement Awareness
Use the FitPAWS Targets to increase your dog's paw placement awareness by placing the Targets on the ground in front or your dog and encourage them to step onto the Targets. Each paw should be on its own Target. To increase the Intensity Level, change the placement of the Targets or reduce the number of Targets.
Introduce new Equipment
The FitPAWS Targets are a great tool to introduce pets to new equipment. To do this, have your pet step or stand on the targets and reward them. Once they understand to stand on the targets when signaled, place the targets on the new equipment piece and signal them to stand on the targets.
