HOW DOES IT COMPARE?
Our EMU device works by gently pulsing an electromagnetic field into your pup's soft tissue. It is designed to be used in conjunction with many of our brace, bed, and relief products.
Our signature EM technology is more commonly known as Electromagnetic (EM) Field or Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) therapy. EM works at the cellular level to help reduce pain and swelling while increasing blood flow.
The EMU device is a noninvasive solution for pain management, allowing activity to continue while receiving healing therapy whether it is for acute injury, post-operative recovery or chronic (arthritic) pain.
Our device is easy to use and rechargeable. Simply press the power button to start your pup's 1-hour therapy session. The depth of treatment is 2-4 inches.

technology
- Clinically proven in the human space, PEMF stimulation and thermal therapy works at the cellular level, accelerating the reaction rate of Calcium (Ca2+) and Calmodium (CaM) binding. This process increases Nitric Oxide (NO) production in the target tissue.
- Nitric Oxide is an important cellular signaling molecule involved in many physiological and pathological processes which in this case targets, among other things COX-2, the enzyme responsible for inflammation and pain.
- Blood and Lymph Flow are increased, leading to reduced pain and inflammation resulting in reduced need for medication, contributing to improved function and Quality of Life (QOL).
Use
- We recommend you consult with your veterinarian to determine the best treatment plan.
- It is most common to see improvements after two weeks, however some pet owners may see results right away.
- You may notice improvements in mood, increased levels of activity, changes in behavior, and ease of movement.
- After seeing improvements with your pet, we recommend using the EMU device on an as-needed basis.
Care
- Use an isopropyl alcohol cloth to wipe the EMU device. The device is not waterproof, do not submerge or soak in water.
- Clean the EMU straps by hand with mild detergent or machine wash on a gentle cycle with cold water. Air dry to preserve elasticity.
- Allow the EMU device to dry thoroughly before reuse.
- To ensure battery does not die prematurely, charge device every 3 months.

HOW DOES EM TECHNOLOGY WORK?
- The EMU system works at the cellular level by gently pulsing an electromagnetic field into your pup's soft tissue.
- The energy generated from the EM improves intracellular function which also increases the production of nitric oxide - a healing molecule common in all living things.
- Nitric Oxide helps to increase blood flow to where your pup is hurting, further reducing pain and edema at the treatment area.
HOW OFTEN DO I NEED TO RECHARGE THE EMU DEVICE?
- A fully charged EMU device can deliver 10-15 one-hour therapy sessions. When the EMU battery is low, the indicator light will flash purple. When this occurs, we recommend charging the device so it’s ready for your next use.
CAN MY PUP FEEL EM TECHNOLOGY?
- Our technology should not be mistaken with a TENS unit. Unlike TENS, our EM technology is subsensory, meaning you nor your pup will not feel a thing. Dogs are far more sensitive than humans, so we've designed our EM technology to not emit any vibration, tingling sensations, heat, or noise.
- The only thing your pup will feel is relief!
HOW LONG SHOULD MY DOG USE THE EMU device?
- We recommend to consult with your veterinarian to determine the best treatment plan for your pup. For optimal results, we recommend completing one 1-hour treatment everyday for two weeks. Once this period is over, please use this device as needed for pain relief.
WHEN WILL I SEE RESULTS?
- Some pups will see results right away, others may take longer than 2 weeks. You should see improvements in mood, increased levels of activity, changes in behavior and perhaps even tail wagging.
WHAT IS THE CLINICAL EVIDENCE ON EM/PEMF TECHNOLOGY?
- NASA has been using EM technology to aid astronauts in supporting bone health and prevent degeneration, following time spent in space.
- Our EM technology is a lighter frequency optimized for pain management and increased circulation in soft tissue. This technology has been proven in the human medical space with clinical trials focused on osteoarthritis, post-surgical and post-injury recovery. These trials have shown improvements in scar tissue healing, mobility, pain levels, and edema.

Animal ortho care's customer service is phenomenal!
I thought I had received a defective device and they responded very quickly and were very helpful. They apologized profusely and were very empathetic about the situation. A new device was posted that same day!
Afterwards it turned out that the device was not defective at all, but a mistake on my part. Omg, I was so embarrassed!!
Customer service remained just as friendly and they still paid the return costs (from the Netherlands!).
I can't say much about the device yet. Because of the return process I used a different pain therapy for the problem for which I initially purchased the device. I have not yet used the EMpower routinely, but I will certainly have the opportunity to do so in the future as we have a sanctuary for paralyzed cats.
I like knowing that, because I have the EMpower at home, I have the opportunity to treat pain immediately and easy!

I have a 16yo Golden and a 7 yo Golden that I use the EM device on. My senior dog always has extra energy after a treatment. My 7yo does agility and is a bit rough on her body. She gets treatments after practice and trials. It seems to keep her in better shape.
I love the rechargeable aspect of the EM unit. A lot more practical than other products.

The device helped my dog feel less pain so it is effective! The only downside was that the unit slipped around a lot on the belt so I had to use super tape to keep it in place. Thanks for a great product!
The two hour treatments are impossible to fulfill. My dog will not stay near the deice for more than 1 hour.

My Senior lady has Cushings and is very sensitive to her skin being touched . When I can get her to wear a sweater to hold this device or to sleep under the “blanket” it attaches to I can see a big difference tn her pain and inflammation of arthritis and Cushings.
The Velcro is a bit sturdy and will pull off the device is literally the only down side!
