Yes, but it may take your dog time to learn how to navigate through the door frame while wearing the wheelchair. Observe and encourage your dog while they are mastering this skill.
Yes, your dog can pee and poop with minimal to no mess. The rear harness includes a reinforced channel to provide support and urinary direction for male dogs.
No, this wheelchair is for active use only. Be sure to provide your dog with a 15-minute break after approximately every hour of use.
Yes, if your dog has movement in their hind legs then they should be left out of the foot straps. You can remove the foot straps from the frame if your dog won't be using them. If your dog's hind legs are paralyzed, use the foot straps to prevent injury.
It depends on your dog. Some dogs will only take a few days, while others may require much longer. Patience, praise, and practice are crucial in helping your dog become comfortable with their wheelchair, treats may also help.
No, never leave your dog unattended while using the wheelchair. They could potentially get caught on or trip over things, which might result in injury.
Absolutely! However, it may take other dogs time to get accustomed to your dog's wheelchair. Always observe your dog’s interactions with other dogs.
No, your dog will not be able to safely ascend or descend stairs while in the wheelchair. Remove them from the wheelchair to assist them on the stairs.
No, the wheelchair is too heavy for your dog to swim with. Any currents could also cause your dog to tip over. Never let your dog enter a body of water while using the wheelchair.
Very happy with the Haute Wheels Dog Wheelchair. The chair is lightweight and easy to assemble. Our small dog took off immediately in the chair and it is helping with her to use back legs that became non functional. She is so happy to be able to walk with the wheels!
The wheelchair gives a variety of different options to provide the perfect fit for Carlos, who is now getting used to using the wheelchair for his degenerative myelopathy.
Hi Tim,
This is great to hear! Happy to see Carlos is adjusting well to the wheelchair and is starting to show improvements. Thank you for sharing a video with us! Please let us know if you ever have any questions about the wheelchair, happy to assist!

Our large shephard lab mix tore both CCLs. He’s too old for surgery. We are also waiting for custom braces.
The XL shoulder harness was too small and the front end rode too low. I attached it to a regular dog harness and it works ok now. They should have a bigger harness. Our dog isn’t that huge!
Also, there is no instructional video or manual for how to position the extra brace for the xl wheelchair.
He walks easily in it and it is lightweight.
We do have to be ready to catch up he back of it if he takes a corner too fast or turns in a circle as it will tip! This may be less of an issue with shorter dogs with a lower center of gravity.
Overall, however, we are happy we can continue taking our dog on the walks he loves.
Hi James,
Sorry to hear about the wheelchair harness not fitting. We are happy to hear you were able to make the harness work. Thank you for sharing a video of your dog walking with the wheelchair. Looks like he is loving his walks again and is doing well! I'm sorry we unfortunately don't have any sort of instructional information for the stability bar. We apprecaite your honest feedback and we will be sure to share this recommendation with the rest of the team. Please let us know if you ever have any additional questions, happy to help!

After assembly, which was a bit confusing, we put Jade (our 16 year old Chiweenie) in the wheelchair. Much to our surprise she immediately took off running like she had always been in it !! We have had her out at a local park twice now, and she really seems to enjoy the new mobility, running like a much younger girl. There were a couple of semispectacular rollovers, but when uprighted again all was fine. Overall, we are very happy with her wheelchair, as is she.
I love that you can really customize the height, width, length of this. It helps to minimize the risk that it won't work for your pet. Before this, I spent so many hundreds on braces for my dog with IVDD and the other companies had poor customer service and claimed to accept returns for a different size but I reached out a few times and never was able to exchange my item. Thus far, this wheelchair has helped more than the braces. I do wish that I could buy a slightly larger harness. The holes on these seem slightly too snug for my corgis upper leg. I plan to reach out to customer service about whether there's a way to purchase that separately. I think it will make the wheelchair much more comfortable for my dog.
Hi Jessica,
We are happy to hear that our wheelchair is helping your dog! We do offer different sizes of harnesses on our website that you can purchase separately. One of our customer service representatives will reach out to you soon to assist. Please let us know if you ever have any additional questions, happy to help!
